The MAPA programme is fully BILD accredited and primarily focuses on teaching an effective range of verbal and non-physical intervention and de-escalation skills, which compliment Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) models, and support objectives outlined in all current guidelines relevant to this area of training.
For last resort responses to keep everyone safe from harm, the MAPA® Foundation programme also provides a range of low, medium and high risk holding skills, which are taught as a natural progression of physiological principles, covering seated, standing and transitional situations.
MAPA® Holds are team controls requiring two people and are always advocated as a very last resort option to keep staff and pupils safe from harm.
MAPA also teaches how to provide post crisis therapeutic rapport, so that positive relationships remain intact.
This course is for OGAT staff only, and is limited to a maximum of 15 places.
The cost for this course will be £110.00 per delegate for OGAT Staff.
