Gayle Rowe – History - Learning Leader, Ossett Academy

As a History teacher of over 12 years’ experience, Gayle has embraced a variety of roles during her time at Ossett Academy, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to pupil progress. Her current role is Learning Leader of year 7, leading the Raising Attainment Team and coordinating transition from year 6; utilising a variety of strategies to promote success and remove barriers to learning, engaging with a range of stakeholders in order that students at Ossett Academy can achieve their potential.

Prior to this Gayle was the Head of History for over 5 years, communicating a passion for History to both students and colleagues. She has coached and mentored PGCE students, NQTs and supported staff in their pursuit of excellence, both on a one to one basis and through the delivery of INSET.
Professional development has been central to Gayle’s roles within the academy, evidenced recently by the successful completion of a Masters degree (Professional Development Through Action Research – Education).
