Located in the attractive village of Newbold in Chesterfield, a short drive from the beauty of the Peak District in Derbyshire and the thriving city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy Newbold is a school with a clear and persuasive ethos. We believe that children never achieve their full potential if their time at school is wasted, and consequently we expect our staff to bring out the best in each and every student. Our diverse curriculum has something for everyone, with extra guidance for those requiring additional support, and we do whatever it takes to help young people develop a sense of responsibility – towards themselves, each other, their community and the wider world. We are extremely proud of the transformation our academy has started and our welcoming and supportive culture and climate will engage you immediately. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join our strong and supportive English department. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’.

At GCSE, we teach WJEC specifications in English Language and English Literature, and we have developed a focused curriculum from Year 7 to Year 13, which prepares students well for the rigours of their GCSE courses and beyond.

You will be able to access the extensive advice, support, resources, CPD and career opportunities available across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools.
The Academy is an 11 – 18 school.

This is an opportunity to join our school in a pivotal year at an exciting stage of our journey as we strive for excellence in all areas, transforming the lives of the young people in our care. 81% of students achieved A*-C in GCSE English in 2016 and we are making sustainable improvements which will continue to improve the achievements and life chances of our students.
