Welcome to Teach Outwood

We are now recruiting to train the next generation of  teachers through the National Institute of Teaching's Initial Teacher Training programme.

As founding partners of this organisation, we are excited to collaborate with three other leading school trusts - Star Academies, Harris Federation and Oasis Community Learning. Together,  we have selected what is best from our trusts' initial teacher development and built an immersive programme to equip our cohort of future teachers to inspire and develop children across the country.

Meet our Trainees

Thousands of people like you choose to train as a teacher every year.  Hear from just a few of our past and current trainees who have made that choice and have never looked back:

Career Experience Visits

Our academies offer career experience visits to help you decide if teaching is the career for you or to provide additional evidence prior to an application or interview.

On the visit, you will be assigned a host teacher who you will shadow, allowing you to experience what life in the classroom is really like! You will not be asked to teach any lessons and you will not be left alone with students. We ask all participants to adhere to academy dress codes and codes of conduct.

So, if you are an undergraduate or Master’s student and interested in exploring Maths, Science, Computer Science or Languages in a secondary school, then the Teaching Internship programme could be for you. Placements will take place in one of our Outwood secondary academies across Yorkshire & Humber, Tees Valley, Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and Lancashire.
