Science Matters - South

This programme will support participants to reveal the ‘world of science’ and inspire the next generation by delivering outstanding science lessons and engaging students through practicals. Participants will explore how to raise aspirations by providing a platform of challenge in their classroom and bring awe and wonder to every lesson.

The programme is appropriate for secondary NQTs, experienced teachers and non-specialists who wish to deliver their lessons to a high standard.

The sessions are a mixture of full and half days and will explore:

  • Apparatus: Getting equipped and engaging students with hooks that establish a motivational learning environment

  • Method: Getting practical and nurturing numeracy and literacy within science

  • Variables: Differentiation and how to stretch and support all learners.

  • Results and Analysis: Pushing for progress in science through the analysis of data.

Module 1: Wednesday 19th June, 2019- 9:00am - 3:00pm

Module 2: Wednesday 26th June 2019- 9:00am - 3:00pm

Module 3: Wednesday 3rd July 2019- 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Module 4: Wednesday 10th July 2019- 1:00pm - 3.30pm

Module 5: Wednesday 17th July 2019- 9:00am - 3:00pm

Sessions will take place at the Outwood Institute of Education Conference Centre, Tenter Balk Lane, Adwick, Doncaster, DN6 7EQ.

Cost and How to Book

Open to OGAT staff only. There is no cost to book a place on this programme.
